October 26, 2004 ATLANTA, GA – October 26, 2004 – The Atlanta Opera and Delta Air Lines announced today a two-year partnership that establishes Delta Air Lines as the “Official Airline of The Atlanta Opera” for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons. Continuing its support for the arts in Atlanta, Delta Air Lines will provide travel vouchers for all air transportation for the company. In exchange, The Atlanta Opera will promote Delta Air Lines in all advertising, publicity, marketing collateral and special events. The two-year partnership is valued at approximately $350,000. “Travel is an enormous expense to any company, so we are very fortunate to have Delta Air Lines support us,” said Dennis Hanthorn, General Director of The Atlanta Opera. “They continue to be corporate role models for our community, and we certainly will do everything we can to communicate with our patrons the value Delta Air Lines brings to The Atlanta Opera.” Delta Air Lines will also play a pivotal role in The Atlanta Opera’s promotional opportunities, such as the company’s “Windy City Get Away” currently underway. If anyone purchases tickets to DON GIOVANNI on Nov. 4, 6 or 7, or mails their name, address and phone number to The Atlanta Opera by Nov. 7, 2004, he or she will qualify to win a trip for two to Chicago to see Lyric Opera of Chicago’s world premiere of A WEDDING on January 8, 2005. Delta Air Lines will fly the winner and a guest to enjoy this never before seen opera production. “Delta is proud to be the Official Airline of The Atlanta Opera, a valuable arts organization in Atlanta for 25 years. Our partnership will help to grow the company and expand its reputation as an international institution that continues to enrich our community,” said Ansley Jones Colby, General Manager for Global Diversity and Community Affairs at Delta Air Lines. About Delta Air Lines About The Atlanta Opera Remaining Schedule for the 25th Anniversary Season:
Note: The Atlanta Opera offers free Pre-Opera Lectures one hour before each performance. These informative sessions, which last approximately 30 minutes, provide a history of the performance and a synopsis of the production. In addition, The Atlanta Opera does not allow late seating.
