Supernumeraries are non-speaking, non-singing roles in operas, similar to extras in movies. Casting needs vary per production. The Atlanta Opera accepts supernumerary applications any time of year for all those interested in being a part of an operatic production.

To apply online:
1 - Download and save the blank application below
2 - Fill out the appropriate information
3 - Save the form
4 - Email the completed form to with "Supernumerary Application" in the subject line. Please attach a head shot or photo of yourself.

Once received, we will add your name to our files, and we will contact you if your description fits our casting needs for a production.

Super needs for the 2016-17 Season:

Production period:
April 6 – May 7, 2017 (detailed scheduled available for interested parties)
  • 1 EXECUTIONER (Female): Must be able to learn martial arts sword choreography. Previous experience a plus.
  • 1 PRINCE OF PERSIA (Male): Should appear young/teenage. Must be comfortable undressing to a loin cloth on stage.
  • 3 Ping/Pang/Pong Servants (Male): Must be able to move quickly and manage large props. Must have daytime rehearsal availability.
  • 6 Men for Various Roles (Soldiers, Servants, etc)
  • 12 children (6 boys/6 girls): Must be between 4-5 feet tall.
