
Alexander Lisiyansky was born in Russia and earned his master’s in architecture from the Voronezh State Academy. He studied theatrical design with David Borovsky at the Moscow Taganka Theater and Sovremennik Theater. Since emigrating to Israel in 1990, Lisiyansky has designed award-winning stage sets for more than 250 theatre and opera productions around the world including Habima National Theater (Tel Aviv), The Israeli Opera (Tel Aviv), Theater U Nikitskih Vorot (Moscow), Chamber Music Theater (Moscow), National Theater (Sofia), Bryantsev Youth Theater (St. Petersburg), “Gesher” Theater (Tel Aviv), Virginia Opera (Norfolk), Boston Opera, and more. Lisiyansky’s work was most recently seen with The Atlanta Opera in Handel’s Julius Caesar. (Aug 2025)
