Donald Eastman, scenic designer, designed last season’s Steele Roots. The acclaimed designer’s premiere productions include Blue (Glimmerglass Festival), Steve Reich’s 3 Tales (BAM), Philip Glass’s Appomattox (Washington National Opera), Douglas Cuomo’s Arjunas Dilema (BAM) and Tazewell Thompson’s Jubilee (Seattle Opera). His designs for Opera and Theatre have been seen across America and in Europe. Donald is a NEA/National Opera Institute grantee and the recipient of a Village Voice OBIE Award for Sustained Excellence. (Jun 2026)
