Mark Diamond is thrilled to return to his home state of Georgia for his debut with The Atlanta Opera. An active performer and teacher, Diamond captivates audiences with his artistry and versatility across opera, concert, and recital stages. This season, he appears with Dallas Winds, Mercury Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Gulbenkian, Austin Opera, and others. A dynamic presence onstage, he has performed leading roles with major companies including Houston Grand Opera, Seattle Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, and internationally with Opéra de Limoges, Théâtre de Caen, and Opéra de Reims. Career highlights include Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Marcello in La bohème, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, John Proctor in The Crucible, and Papageno in The Magic Flute. His journey began with a major milestone in 2011, when he won Houston Grand Opera’s Concert of Arias, earning a place in the prestigious HGO Studio. Following his time in the studio, Diamond’s singing career took off and he discovered a passion for teaching, leading him to earn an M.M. from Rice University and a D.M.A. from the University of Houston. Today, Dr. Diamond is proud to continue Texas’s rich tradition of vocal pedagogy as a member of the voice faculty at Baylor University, while maintaining an active career performing on the world’s finest stages.
