Presented as part of the 96-Hour Opera Festival, the winner of the inaugural showcase in 2022, and the first new opera launched from the competition. The one-act dark comedy explores some of Georgia’s terrifying, uncomfortable, and uncanny histories related to the unsavory genesis of Lake Lanier in Forsyth County, Georgia. 96-Hour Opera Project Showcase

Now in its third season, the 96-Hour Opera Festival celebrates emerging creative talents from historically under-recognized communities and offers a path into the art of opera. The Showcase is open to the public, and five world-premiere mini-operas are presented. The Atlanta Opera welcomes an exceptional group of judges to review and determine the winners of a $10,000 award and an Atlanta Opera commission.
